NOTE: the requirement for passing this Ed Tech course is to send Chris Carter a PDF copy of a forum that you actually run in one of your classes. If you do not intend to use this technique, then you may want to move on to another course that will more benefit you on our shared journey to preeminence.

This course focuses exclusively on forums as a means of promoting both a healthy social learning environment and encouraging critical thinking skills. The target audience is the middle school and high school teaching staff of Concordia International School Shanghai.  Both the importance of threaded discussions as social networking tools and their use as means of improving critical thinking and argumentation will be addressed. Specific, evidence-based pedagogical practices will drive the instruction, with the mutually supporting goals of furthering the building of the social community and the development of higher order thinking skills being essential outcomes.
